Kalamazoo County Ready 4s

Mission: To advance fully accessible, high-quality pre-kindergarten education for every 3- and 4-year-old in Kalamazoo County through collaborative leadership with public and private providers.

KC Ready 4s’ origin is rooted in the social justice organizing process that ISAAC uses to identify and address significant issues in our community. ISAAC – Interfaith Strategy for Advocacy and Action in the Community – is an interfaith organizing network of about 30 congregations and organizations working together to build a more just community. One issue voiced by the community was concern for the well-being of our youngest children and their support, safety, and preparation for life.

KC Ready 4s partners with more than 50 private, high-quality pre-K programs in Kalamazoo County to ensure every child begins Kindergarten ready to succeed. We do this by 1) providing tuition assistance to eligible families; 2) providing high-quality supports to pre-K providers; and 3) supporting the whole family through collaborations with community partners.
