Volunteer: Hospice Volunteers needed

Greetings! We serve hospice patients in your area, all over Michigan and surrounding states. We are a growing company with a passion for taking exceptional care of our patients with dignity and quality during their end-of-life journey. I am reaching out because we have patients in need of companionship around Battle Creek Michigan. Volunteers visit patients where they reside, in their home or facility. The joy and comfort a volunteer extend to a hospice patient is tremendously rewarding. Careline is hoping to share this opportunity with your members by putting this information on your Facebook page, bulletin board, or in newsletter. As a Volunteer Coordinator, I have a passion for this program and for the opportunity to help our hospice patients. I am available to talk to members, small groups, and one on one to go over the volunteer program and its opportunities. We do require volunteers to have a 2 step TB test, fingerprinting, training, and PPE which is provided by Careline. We are looking to build a diverse group of volunteers in all areas. There is no minimum requirement for volunteer hours. Any time donated will be flexible around your schedule. We work to accommodate in the areas that you are willing to service. Volunteers can choose indirect versus direct ways to volunteer. Below are examples of how to direct volunteer: • Crafts, painting, or any creative activity that can be done by the bedside. • Pet companion volunteers( do not have to be Certified therapy dogs) • Veteran to veteran companionship • Music therapy (could be singing, playing, or listening to music) • Companionship, talking, reading a book, puzzles, word searches. • Shoveling, mowing, weeding flower beds, grocery shopping, light housework, dog walking. Volunteer: Kitchen Help

The SHARE Center serves over 30,000 healthy and delicious meals each year to people in need. We have been able to meet needs through the generosity of the community. Without donations and volunteers, it will be very difficult for us to continue meeting the growing need for food assistance. We are looking for volunteer in the kitchen helping our cook prepare and serve meals as well as helping clean up afterwards. Past volunteers have commented on how rewarding it is to serve those in need and getting to know some of the people we serve.
