Volunteer: Playroom Volunteer

Open and close the playroom for kids in shelter during regular scheduled time. Arrange activities for youth to participate in while in the playroom. Afternoons, evenings and weekends preferred during school year. Summer hours flexible. Minimum of 2 hours each day at least one day a week.

Volunteer: Maintenance Volunteer

POSITION OVERVIEW
Performs general maintenance and repairs to equipment, yard, and building. Requires practical knowledge and skill in painting, plumbing and electrical work.

KEY DUTIES
· Performs maintenance repairs as needed
· Completes minor repairs such as patching holes and painting
· Repairs electrical receptacles, wires, switches, and fixtures. Also, will be asked to check lights throughout building,
· Completes minor plumbing repairs.
· Completes other minor work requests such as but not limited to, moving of furniture, checking smoke alarms, checking baseboard heat, putting shelves together, mowing lawn, etc.
· All other duties as assigned by Shelter Manager or designee

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
· Understanding and/or ability to learn domestic violence dynamics, investment in the empowerment philosophy, organizational skills, crisis intervention skills, and an ability to access community resources

MINIMUM LEARNING OUTCOMES
· Understanding of maintenance in general. Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
· 2-hour orientation training
