Needs From: Volunteer Center of Greater Battle Creek and Kalamazoo

Core Home Build Volunteers are dedicated individuals who regularly contribute their time and skills to support Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building safe, affordable homes. These volunteers typically commit to working on construction sites at least once a week and become an integral part of the build team. Core volunteers assist with a variety of construction tasks—such as framing, siding, painting, and interior work—depending on their skills and the needs of the project.

By consistently showing up, core volunteers help maintain project momentum, support site leadership, and create a welcoming, productive environment for new volunteers. Their ongoing commitment directly impacts KVHH’s ability to build homes and strengthen communities.

Volunteers assist in the dining room by helping with trays of food, assisting on the steam tables, pouring drinks, cleaning tables, and general clean-up. Join our exceptional team of volunteers in a growing organization which is a food pantry and free store for basic needs.  Work with the current Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Committee to manage  and develop our exceptional group of volunteers.  Work with team to ascertain that enough volunteers are signed up for the task.  Recruit new volunteers and assign to positions/light training. 

Therapeutic Residential Services provide intensive stabilization services in a structured, safe environment for youth who are experiencing behavioral health instability and need out-of-home treatment.

We are in need of non-bridge items that we provide our community friends in need when they visit us every Saturday.  Please prayerfully consider donating any of the following personal care items - shampoo, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish detergent, paper towels, Kleenex, toothpaste, and deodorant for our team to distribute to those in need.

If interested, these donated items can be dropped off at the Stanley Centre building which is behind the St. Catherine of Siena church each Saturday between 8:30am - 10:30am EST.  

Our inpatient Substance Use Disorder treatment program, Gilmore Community Healing Center, is in need of varying hygiene products to support our clients during their stay. We kindly request that all donations are alcohol free. Thank you!

Products needed: body soap, lotion, oral care items, shampoo + conditioner, shaving items, brushes + combs, reading glasses, feminine hygiene products, shower flip flops, etc.

Donations can be dropped off directly at Gilmore Community Healing Centers 7 days a week, between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Our clients deserve to feel confident and their best when attending a court appearance. We are in need of travel size shampoos, soaps, deodorants, facewash, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. We also appreciate menstrual products. Any donations can be delivered to our office at 151 S. Rose St. 2nd floor.

Our local teams would love to have new (or like new in the case of Beanie Babies) stuffed animals, toys (soccer balls with pumps & needles, dolls, balls, cars, frisbees, Legos, etc), school supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, chalk, erasers, markers) children's clothing (ages 2 to 14), bar soap,or washcloths.  

We have a goal of packing 5000 shoeboxes full of love, prayers and gifts like those above to go to children in over 100 countries, many of whom have never received a gift or heard that there is a God who loves them.

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center collects and distributes full size 2 in 1 body wash/shampoo, deordorant, shaving cream, razors, tooth paste, tooth brushes, mouthwash, and word searchs to newly admitted Veterans and other Veterans in need. 

We do not accept sample or hotel size items, bar soap, and mouth wash must be alcohol free.
