The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is a pivotal state agency committed to enhancing the health, safety, and well-being of Michigan residents. Established in 2015 through the merger of the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Community Health (DCH), MDHHS consolidates various programs and services to effectively address the diverse needs of the population.

What We Do

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of Michigan residents through a wide range of services, including public health initiatives, medical assistance programs, child welfare services, economic assistance, behavioral health support, aging and adult services, and emergency preparedness.
