Who We Are
The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station is Michigan State University’s largest off-campus education complex on Gull Lake in Hickory Corners, MI, volunteering at the W.K.
At the Kellogg Biological Station, you can significantly impact the lives of students and our community. Whether you pull invasive plants, teach children about the wonders of nature, or share a piece of Michigan’s history, your help is crucial in connecting people to science, agriculture, and history.
Please view our calendar of events to see what is happening at KBS or fill out a KBS volunteer application.
What We Do
The W.K.
Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is a wildlife center that offers
conservation-focused public programs, interpretive tours, and accessible trails
that allow visitors to observe both captive and wild birds up close.
The W.K
Kellogg Manor House Manor warmly welcomes tour groups of all sizes
throughout the year and is an excellent destination for those interested in
history and historic homes.
If you are passionate about local history and nature and
enjoy helping others learn, we invite you to become a KBS Volunteer! KBS offers
opportunities to share your time and talents and meet new people.
Visit the KBS volunteer webpage to learn more about the
