Who We Are
Mission: To eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities.
After being founded in 1885, we serve as the oldest and largest association in Michigan. Originally established to provide residence services for young women, today YWCA Kalamazoo serves as a primary resource for economic, gender and racial justice for all women, children and families in Kalamazoo.
What We Do
YWCA Kalamazoo is working every day to provide direct services and shaping polices that affect the most vulnerable in our community. This combination of advocacy and programming is reflected in four strategic focus areas that include:
1) Advocacy
2) Improving the lives of children
3) Caring for Victims of Abuse
4) Community Health / Cradle and Maternal and Child Health
