Responsibilities shall include but may not be limited to:
- Act as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and values to the community; develop and be prepared to deliver both a short and a longer version of an elevator speech describing the Agency.
- Respond in a timely and responsible manner to all communications; promptly notify Disability Network of any changes in contact information.
- Adhere to the attendance policy for Board meetings, board work session committee meetings and events as defined within the organization bylaws.
- Actively participate, as both donor and gift solicitor, in all Board-endorsed fund development activities, including the Annual Campaign and the Holiday Appeal. Serve on at least one Committee of the Board.
- Act in the best interests of the organization and ask to be recused from discussions or votes where there is a conflict of interest.
- Stay up-to-date with the status of the organization.
- Thoroughly read and digest the Board packet in advance of each meeting.
- Be an active participant in policy-making, discussions and other Board business.
- Work in good faith with other Board members and staff members.

Time commitment: a minimum of 4 hours per month
