Description

How will you make a difference? If you are age 55 or better we encourage you to join RSVP - Your Invitation to Volunteer.  RSVP, a national service program, partners with nonprofits, schools and healthcare organizations to offer older adults service opportunities that address some of the most important community needs.  RSVP volunteers tutor or mentor youth, help seniors live independently or access health care benefits, serve Veterans, distribute emergency food, teach adults to read, educate older adults on healthy aging, and more.  Hours: One-time, short term, or regular opportunities are available. Minimum age: 55

Participation in RSVP is free, and volunteers receive personal assistance and information about service options identified specifically for them. Available supports include access to limited mileage reimbursement, no cost supplemental accident medical, volunteer liability and automobile liability insurance, an appreciation event, newsletter and more.

Skills and requirements: Must complete an RSVP volunteer application and participate in orientation.  Some service positions with partner agencies require an additional application, and may include criminal history checks, references, driving record check or other pre-service requirements including training.  Must track and report service hours and activities.
