Thousands of Kalamazoo County seniors struggle to find rides to their health appointments. Want to make a difference? Become the friend at the wheel! Being a Shepherd's Center Volunteer Driver can change the life of a home-bound senior. We welcome anyone ages 18 and older. Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicle and must carry personal vehicle insurance. Volunteers are able to set their own schedules, once a month, once a week or whenever they are available. Prospective volunteers fill out an application, do an in-person interview, and go through criminal and driving record background checks.
