Kalamazoo County Defender, Inc.

Kalamazoo Defender is Kalamazoo County’s Public Defender office. We are unique in that we are a non-profit, so we are able to provide additional services to our clients such as Client Navigators who can provide case management and referrals to partner organizations. Our Client Advocate actively supports clients throughout the criminal legal process. We are proud to provide a “hub” where clients can connect with local partners to set up health care appointments, secure vital documents for income or housing assistance, engage in recovery coaching, borrow clothing for court appearances, and more.

Kalamazoo Defender provides constitutionally guaranteed legal representation for individuals accused of a crime and are appointed a Public Defender. We also provide holistic support for our clients throughout the criminal legal process.
