Kalamazoo Defender serves Kalamazoo County as the public defender for those who are faced with criminal charges and are appointed an attorney by the Court. We also provide holistic services including case management, referrals to community partners, and a hub where clients can meet directly with community partners. We are in need of volunteers for the following roles:
- Court Watching: Volunteers will observe court proceedings and take notes on commonalities or differences in the treatment of our clients by the Court.
- Resource Closet: Volunteers will organize donated clothing and hygiene products in our Resource Closet.
